Getting started with PageDesk 1. Install PageDesk, then choose Open and select a PDF. Your PDF default application changes only if you choose PageDesk in Windows Default Apps. 2. Click a page thumbnail to read. Continuous is the default; scroll to read the next page. Use View All for thumbnails, or the mode selector for Single page or Two pages. Use the zoom box to change magnification. 3. Choose Find to search selectable text. Image-only pages need OCR first; recognition should be checked against the original. 4. Choose Markups to add text or highlights. For text, draw a box, type, and choose Keep text. A signature placed here is a visual mark. 5. Use Save As for a separate edited copy. Reopen the copy and check it. Keep original files as backups. 6. Open a second document and choose Side by side to compare work. Review the Drag mode before moving or copying pages between documents. 7. Packet Builder combines selected documents/pages. Tools contains OCR, comparisons, conversions, reader and reusable processing workflows. Use nonconfidential samples while learning. Your local profile contains settings, recovery data, notes and any saved signature gallery; do not share it. Recovery does not replace saving your work and keeping backups. Store/MSIX updates retain the application profile. Uninstalling the Store/MSIX app can remove its private settings, saved notes and signature gallery. Back up information you need before uninstalling. Saved PDFs outside the application profile remain separate from the app and were retained in the uninstall test. OCR, reflow and conversions can be imperfect. Check redaction output before sharing; automated matching is not a guarantee that every occurrence was removed. Printing and WIA/TWAIN scanning were tested with office hardware. Compatibility depends on your device and driver.
